Is RadioRat free?
Yes. The receiver can be used without an account or subscription. An optional external support link is available, but it is not required to listen.

Does RadioRat host the stations?
No. RadioRat is a discovery interface. Your browser connects directly to each independent broadcaster’s public stream, and that broadcaster controls its programming and availability.
Why does a station sometimes fail?
A stream may be offline, geo-blocked, HTTP-only, overloaded, mislabeled, or encoded in a format your browser cannot play. Try the next nearby signal or search for another station from the same place.
Does Nearby track me?
Nearby requests browser geolocation only after you choose it. The coordinates remain in the current session and are used to calculate distance; RadioRat does not attach them to an account.
Where are favorites and history stored?
They are stored locally in your browser using localStorage and IndexedDB. Clearing site data removes them unless you export a backup from Settings first.
Can I add or correct a station?
Station listings come from the community-powered Radio Browser directory. Send RadioRat a correction report with the station name, country, stream URL, and the change needed, or update the upstream directory when appropriate.
Are the receiver themes separate radio stations?
No. Themes change the visual instrument and globe palette only. Switching themes does not recreate the audio player or alter a broadcaster’s stream.
Can I use RadioRat with reduced motion?
Yes. The application respects the operating system reduced-motion preference, and Data Saver also disables decorative animation and limits the working station set.
